Refinancing saves 2.6 million in interest
Money to buy open space and develop preserves

Lake County taxpayers will save more than $2.6 million in interest payments through the successful bond refinancing of $34.7 million. The 2006 bonds were used to preserve open space, restore wildlife habitat, create new trails and improve public access to preserves. 

The 2.26 percent interest rate attainable because of our AAA rating. The net savings of $2.6 million benefits taxpayers by reducing the Forest Preserve portion of their tax bill." More

Reaching out to Highland Park, Highwood, and Deerfield
Since elected I have been speaking to District 11 communities and my fellow Lake County Board Members / Lake County Forest Preserve Commissioners about getting more efficiency out of operations that supply all kinds of services to our citizens.
911 and Public Safety communication systems show promise in overall county cost reductions if our communities work together. Also, a more centralized property assessment system based out of Waukegan could save millions, provide consistency in assessed values across Lake County, and good customer service to all residents.

Honor Flight Invites Public to Welcome Home Veterans
Celebrate the military service of nine World War II and two Korean War Veterans as they come home from their Lake County Honor Flight trip to Washington D.C. Honor their service by making posters, waving American flags and wearing red, white and blue to the ceremony!
