Blue Kids Project Observes Child Abuse Prevention Month
The Blue Kids Project of Lake County is providing 3-foot tall blue figures that are meant to serve as a source of conversation about child abuse prevention. Visit Blue Kids' Website for info building strong families, preventing child abuse, and addressing various problems.

miliar with Pace bus and its fixed routes, but do you know about paratransit? There are more than 50 known paratransit services across the county primarily serving seniors and people with disabilities. PACE provides ADA paratransit and Dial-a-Ride and there's other services provided by townships and senior centers. Learn more about paratransit in this video, and visit our website to find information about all transit options. 

Moraine Township provides their Door to Door service, West Deerfield Township provides their Going Places service, and the City of Highland Park has the Senior Connector. Call them for further information.

Celebrate 10 years of Reuse-A-Shoe by turning unwanted shoes into sports courts, playgrounds and other products and prevent tons of reusable shoes from ending up in our landfills. Annual Rain Barrel, Compost Bin and Native Plant Sale: May 10 & 11

Senior Citizens Assessment Freeze Homestead Exemption Outreach Sessions 
The Chief County Assessment Office and the Lake County Township Assessors Association will hold several public outreach sessions to assist residents in completing the 2014 Senior Citizen Assessment Freeze Application for taxes payable in 2015; as well as service taxpayer needs on other homestead exemptions available. Residents will work one on one with a staff member to complete the necessary forms. The Senior Freeze Application is due by July 1, 2014. Outreach Session Dates and Times
Additional Concealed Carry Information Session, April 21
The Lake County Sheriff's Office and the Lake County State's Attorney's Office are hosting a second Concealed Carry Law informational session. The session will be on Monday, April 21 at 7 p.m. at the College of Lake County, Grayslake Campus. Learn More
