New Early Voting at HP Police Station
March Primary Early Voting begins March 3rd
The Police Station will provide easy access, additional parking, and more judges to process Early Voters. Please pass the word to your friends and neighbors about this NEW Early Voting site for the March 18 Primary Election. Again, the first day for Early Voting will be March 3rd at the HP Police Station. 1677 Old Deerfield Road.
 
Early voting sites are open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting Monday, March 3 until Saturday, March 15. 
New Election Day voting sites for March 18th Primary Election
At the request of school districts, election day polling sites were moved out of most of the schools to new sites.
Everybody should be receiving notices for the location of their election day voting sites from Lake County Clerk Willard Helander. Several voting precincts have been moved to Ravinia Festival, The Community House, Immaculate Conception, and the HP Police Station.

Any voter can request a ballot by mail online without signing a separate paper ballot request at www.LakeVoterPower.info or may complete a printable form online to sign and mail to Lake County Clerk, 18 North County St., Rm. 101, Waukegan, IL 60085. For more information, call 847-377-2406.

County Board Discusses Rules Related to Medical Cannabis Zoning
This week, a Lake County board committee recommended scheduling a public hearing (not yet scheduled) to get input for the siting and operation of medical cannabis cultivation centers and dispensaries.  Whereas the state law as of Jan. 1 allows 60 dispensaries statewide, a number of which could be located in the Lake County area, the state law limits one cultivation center per multi-county state police district, which means Lake County would only be eligible for one at most. Lake County and over three dozen municipalities worked together to develop model zoning regulations that focus on location, operation, parking, marijuana-related signage, and security. Triblocal article

Trained and licensed navigators are helping Lake County residents enroll for Medicaid, as well as Marketplace health insurance under the new healthcare law as part of the Enroll Lake County! initiative.


Anne Bassi and Moraine Township located at 777 Central Avenue has provided excellent leadership and help on enrolling folks. I would suggest you give them a call at 847.432.3240 for help enrolling for Healthcare Coverage.
