May is Asthma Awareness Month! Here are a few asthma facts from the American Lung Association:
- Asthma is a chronic lung disease that makes it difficult to breathe.
- More than 7 million children in the U.S. have asthma.
- Asthma is a leading cause of school absences.
- Exposure to environmental toxins, such as secondhand smoke, can worsen asthma.
- There is no cure for asthma, but it can be managed so people can live a normal, healthy life.

Smoking and the Movies

What we know: Increased exposure to smoking in movies leads to both an increase in favorable attitudes towards smoking, especially among adolescents, and an increased risk that an adolescent will begin smoking.
