NCC Parent Night Out

Naas Community Club will hold Movie Night with Parent Night Out on Friday, 12-13-13. This is an evening when parents may drop off children to attend movie night and do holiday crafts, allowing you to have a few hours to do Christmas shopping, have dinner out, or take a few quiet hours for yourself. The cost is $5.00 per child with a maximum of $15.00 per family. Drop off time is 6pm with pick up being 9pm. More detailed information will come home with students in early December.

Cold Weather is Here....

With the cooling temperatures and wet weather it's time adjust what we wear as we walk out the door. Please remind your child to wear a jacket and enclosed shoes with socks. Kids arriving without those items tend to be cold and uncomfortable.

Mark Your Calendar for the Winter Music Concert

Come get into the Holiday Spirit with Naas students (grades 1-5) as they share music and fun during the Winter Music Performance. The concert will be held in the Naas cafeteria on Thursday, 12-19-13 from 6:30-7:30 pm. Be watching for more detailed information to come home soon!

Save Those Box Tops and Soup Labels!

With all the holiday feasts coming up, remember to clip those box tops and soup labels and send them to school.  The credit we get from them goes toward purchasing playground equipment and items for Cub Store.

Naas Elementary Annual Giving Tree and Canned Food Drive

***Begins December 2nd

What:

The Giving Tree - This is a way for us to donate newly purchased items for children such as mittens, hats, socks, toys, etc.  The tree will be in the entrance of the school with tags for either boys or girls and for specific age groups.  You may take a tag and return it along with any unwrapped gift you choose to purchase or you may send your unwrapped gift in and we will match it up with a tag.  The last day to bring in items will be December 13th.  PLEASE DO NOT WRAP THE PRESENTS.

Food Drive -  We will have our annual class competition to see which class can provide the most food for needy families in our community.  Bring your items in or send them with your child, however, make sure your contributions go to your child's classroom so his/her class is credited for them.  Last day for food items will be December 13th.  The winning class will receive a pizza party provided by the Boring Fire Department.  Please remember we cannot accept items that are dented, outdated, rusty, or without labels.  (Please note: credit for Top Ramen is 1 credit for every 5 packages).

When:

Both begin December 2nd.  Boring Fire Department will pick up food and gift items on December 13th.

Where:

Naas Elementary

Why:

Our Naas community is very caring and giving.  There are families in need of assistance and we like to help.  Applications are available for those families in need at the Boring Fire Department.

Who:

Everyone is encouraged to participate:  staff, students, parents, and the whole community are encouraged to donate food items and /or gifts for the Giving Tree.

Giving to those in our community who are in need generates a more caring community.  Join in on the joy of giving!

Think "Click, Buy, Help" for Holiday Shopping

When making online purchases, please visit the "Click, Buy, Help" link on the Naas website.  New businesses have been added since the beginning of the year.  We now have links available to shop with Amazon, Target, Old Navy, Walgreens, Oriental Trading and iTunes.  Shopping through the "Click, Buy, Help" link is easy.  Just follow these steps:
1.  Go to the district website:
      www.oregontrailschool.com
2.  Select Naas from the drop down "select a school"
menu at the top of the page.
3. Click on the "Click, Buy, Help" box on the left-hand
    side of the page.
4.  Click on the merchant you'd like to purchase
     from.

From this point you do your online shopping as usual.  By going to the merchant site the our "Click, Buy, Help" link, that merchant makes a donation to Naas.
