The U.S. should follow Canada's lead
Study author points to the leadership of CHEP

According to the study, which used the Cardiovascular Disease Policy Model, the full implementation of the 2014 U.S. hypertension guidelines would save costs and result in an annual reduction of approximately 56,000 cardiovascular events and 13,000 deaths from cardiovascular causes. In fact, the evidence is so strong for some groups that cost saving remains intact even if treatment costs doubled to due to medication adherence. Second call for 2015 Hypertension Canada Recognition Award Nominations
May 15, 2015 - Deadline for submission of nominations

Many individuals have contributed to Canada's success of having the lowest prevalence rates for hypertension in the developed world and the highest awareness, treatment and control.  Submit a nomination to recognize individuals or organizations that have made significant contributions to this effort. 


Wellspring Pharmacy Leadership Awards
March 23, 2015 - Deadline for submission of nominations

Up to $10,000 will be awarded to a worthy recipient(s) to help fund initiatives fostering their development and leadership.
Pharmacists may be nominated by another individual or they may nominate themselves.
Pharmacists are encouraged to submit entries or nominations via email
