IN FOCUS
Volunteers Inspiring Excellence

How does one find the inspiration to give just a little more of one's self or time? Look no further than the volunteers behind Hypertension Canada's programs and services.

We make a living by what we do, but we make a life by what we give.

- Winston Churchill

Over 200 people across the nation donate more than 15,000 hours to Hypertension Canada each year. Many of our volunteers are the busiest of professionals - business leaders, nurses, physicians, dieticians, pharmacists, researchers, professors, department chiefs, among many others - and they make it look easy. They give of their time and expertise to power our research strategies, craft our CHEP Recommendations, create high-quality education programs and materials, conduct our Canadian Hypertension Congress, and so much more, all the while striving for excellence in everything they do. The collective efforts, skills, and expertise of our volunteers make possible our mission to advance health through the prevention and control of high blood pressure and its complications.

This National Volunteer Recognition Week (April 6-10), we invite you to join Hypertension Canada's staff in celebrating our volunteers whose generous spirits are making life better for people with hypertension. We thank them for all they do, and for how well they inspire us to strive for excellence in all we do, and to give just a little more of ourselves.

To our volunteers!

Angelique Berg

Chief Executive Officer
