Public Forum on Hypertension

Wednesday, October 16, 2013  - 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

St Jacques Room,  Delta Centre-Ville, 777 rue University , Montréal

 

Registration is free but limited to 100 participants. This public education program will include:

  • Presentation: What is Hypertension? How do I manage it?
  • Presentation: Home Blood Pressure Monitoring
  • Interactive Q & A Session with Healthcare Professionals (Physician, Dietitian, Nurse, Pharmacist)
  • Free Blood Pressure Screening

Train the Trainer Workshop - Hypertension Management, CHEP Recommendations and CHEP Educational Resources.

Sunday, October 20, 2013 - 8:30 AM - 12:00 Noon

Palais des congrès de Montréal 

 

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of health care professionals (doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other health care educators/promoters) working with hypertensive and prehypertensive populations.

 

It is anticipated that after the session participants will be able to apply the 2013 Canadian Hypertension Education Program (CHEP) guidelines in their practice and use the CHEP Educational resources/tools to educate their colleagues and when counseling patients diagnosed with hypertension.

A presentation of the latest CHEP Recommendations and educational resources/tools will be followed by a panel discussion of different case studies with the participants.

All groups will host individual sessions, but will come together on Friday, 'Vascular Day' to present topics of interest to all.  Registration to any one conference will allow delegates to attend sessions presented by any of the groups.  We will also collaborate on a joint exhibit area / community forum; abstract poster presentation; co-developed symposia and much more.
