Greetings!
Peace is a wonderful thing. In a larger sense, peace is seen as the absence of war. Individually, it is the absence of fighting and disagreements within our families, work places or lives. Unfortunately, social media today bombards us with a lack of peace, showcasing people who argue over anything and everything. It is almost a badge of honor to disagree and bring the opposite view point to a discussion. But what if peace is simply being calm? What if we could find that inward sense of peace even in the midst of fighting or disagreements? Granted, disagreements are a part of real life, but wouldn't it be wonderful to feel calm in the midst of such moments? When Jesus speaks to his disciples the night of his arrest, he tells them he is giving them peace, "not like the world gives," but the peace given by God. Certainly that peace was seen over the next few hours of Jesus' life as he was arrested and crucified. But where can YOU find this peace -- that center of calmness in the midst of life's craziness? Hopefully, you find that peace in Jesus. When we trust in God's loving care in the face of life's chaos, that love and peace is all we need.
God's Peace, Jim
