Greetings!
Growing up, I remember playing "Simon Says." It was a fun game to play with lots of friends. I personally loved being Simon. You were able to make people do weird things. Of course, it often got to the absurd level like standing on your head while singing a song. Others didn't like me being Simon.
I thought about this game because in April, I am starting a series called Jesus Said ... It will look at a different saying from Jesus each week. The sayings are listed below. This series will challenge me because, I not only like being Simon, I also like to be Jesus and put words in his mouth (or at least twist the words). I think we all do that at times. Maybe because some of the sayings are difficult or well, let's be honest, we don't always like doing what is offered.
I want to invite you to join us each Sunday this upcoming month as we listen to the words of Jesus and try to live them out. Let us, as a Community of Faith, learn to live the words of Jesus in each of our lives.
See you Sunday!
Jim
