Greetings!
Change can be scary, exciting, overwhelming. In fact, change can
mean different things to different people. Here at CPC, we are in the process of change. The session is just starting to implement a new structure to help us oversee the ministry and mission we carry out here at CPC. As that structure develops, you will hear more about the positive impact of what we do in the name of Jesus. Soon you will know the name of the person overseeing the various ministries. As we empower folks to take on different tasks, our Ministry Groups and Session will begin to plan and implement new and exciting ministries.

One ministry example is the Food Pantry Garden. Next summer, those boxes will be filled with delicious veggies to be handed out with the other food. It may not look like much right now, but wait until next summer.

Of course, if you walked through the building you have seen some of the physical changes taking place which are necessary to help us with office space and to expand the Ball Chatham Food Pantry. Alongside that, Bonnie and the youth are excited to design and implement an even bigger space for our youth ministry. Yes, things change. Sometimes it is hard to look down the road to see what it will mean. Yet I am sure we stand in the very same position as people who have come before us. As people stood in the square and decided to move to this current location, I am sure there was much angst. Even as we expanded each time on this current site, I am sure at times it was hard to see the positive impact it might have.

Session has worked hard to bring us to these two changes. If you have any questions or concerns, please find time to speak with any one of them or with me. God has been doing great things through CPC, and God will continue to do so for many years to come - even through all the changes yet to take place.

See you Sunday,
Jim
SEPTEMBER SERMON SERIES: Your God?
Ground Your Long Weekend with God's Word This Sunday and Month-long
How do you view God? The answer determines how your faith is expressed. Whether you see God as
vengeful or loving, looking through those glasses will set the tone for what you believe. Even suggesting that WE get to determine who/what God is misses the mark. Join us in our Worship Celebrations in September as we explore our various images of God and compare those to what Scripture tells us about God.

Sept. 6: The Far Off, Aloof God. 1 Kings 19: 9-12 & John 14:1-11.
Sept. 13: God the Policeman. Psalm 113: 1 - 9 & Mark 7:1-8; 14-15.
Sept. 20:
God the Magician. Luke 11:1- 10 & Mark 8: 11-21.Third graders receive their Bibles this service.
Sept. 27:
