Greetings!
"Do The Math." This summer, I started growing mammoth sunflowers along the fence in the backyard. I am fascinated by these wonderful plants. They grow from a tiny seed to a 9' - 11' high sunflower plant with one large sunflower on top. The point for me is not to harvest the seeds, but to enjoy looking at them and watching the birds go crazy eating the seeds.
Did you know there are only 12 or 13 seeds in one 1 oz. pack of mammoth sunflower seeds? Not too many. Yet if you plant those 12 seeds, then harvest all the seeds from the plants that year, and replant the next year, harvest all of the seeds again and plant in the third year, by the end of that third year you will end up with 960,000,000,000 seeds? That is 960 billion! All from a 1 oz. pack of seeds and three growing seasons.
As I sit and watch the sunflowers grow and multiply in such significant quantities in our backyard, I cannot help but wonder what would happen if we, as people of faith, shared our faith like sunflowers. If each member of CPC shared their faith in a way that led one other person to believe in Jesus and became a part of our community of faith, in just one year, we would be a 400-member church. In two years, we would grow to 800 people, and in three years, 1,600 people. WOW! That is impressive. You see, it only takes one conversation to have the potential to change another person's life. In so doing, God can take what we offer and multiply that gift over and over again.
Who are you sharing your faith with at this time in your life? Is God leading you to be the one person to touch the life of someone else? Maybe now is the time to offer what little we have in order for God to multiply it into something amazing.

Help Wanted:
Are you an organized person who likes to work behind the scenes? We have an exciting new outreach program, and we could use your help! We need a coordinator to divide the Chatham area into zones. From there, we will invite one or two people living in each zone to oversee the area, noting when homes go on the market. Once a home is sold, the CPC neighbor will drop off a packet of helpful coupons along with a handwritten note, welcoming the new folks to the neighborhood. The coordinator of the project would separate the zones, work on the packet and help recruit CPC members to oversee the zones. All of this can be carried out at home, on your schedule. If God is calling you to this ministry, please contact Jim Reitz, and he will share more details.
