A Few Thoughts from Pastor Jim Reitz
Today I finish my first four weeks here at CPC. What wonderful weeks they have been! I am learning a great deal about the church, its history, and most importantly, the fabulous people.
I want to share the one aspect I have really observed: this place is Spirit-filled. There is a real sense of God's presence, of God's love for each other. That can't be captured; it can't be imitated. It can only be real. And you have it, right here at CPC.
I want to invite us to build on that Spirit of God's love. So, what is it I want to change? Nothing. For now I want to live in that Spirit of love with you. I want to build on the excitement I feel. How? By joining in Worship Celebration and study of God's Word in our small groups. By having everyone step up and become a part of the fantastic ministry God is doing in us and through us. God needs each and every one of us to make this Community of Faith something extraordinary and delightful to Him.
Over the next month, we will hold a Leadership Retreat with session and staff to begin listening for God's Spirit to lead us and guide us. Please by praying for these people and the process. As God's direction comes into focus, we will share more with you. And you will be invited to join in some open discussions about who we are, where we have been, and where God is leading us in ministry.
I ask you for now to build on the love and excitement that is already present. Over the next six weeks, I will lead us on Sunday mornings to think about important aspects of the church. I value your thoughts and ideas each week. God is continuing to do something new in our midst day after day.

Looking for something life-changing to do in 2014? We have openings with several Clubhouse age groups. The work is rewarding, and the pay is great - all the hugs and smiles you could want. Contact Laura VanProyen at 494-0503 or email: christianed@chathampresbyterian.org. |
