Issue 20

From the Pastor:

What a Great Sunday: It was so fun seeing our students and adults get involved in the "Trek and Treat" and "Trunk and Treat." These were two awesome events to reach out to the community. It was wonderful seeing all those students help with the 5K and to do it all for such an important cause. We hear a lot of negative information about students these days, but this event showed we have students around CPC who are taking seriously their walk with Christ. What a blessing!

2014 Pledge Cards Due Tomorrow, Nov. 3rd: Don't forget to turn in your 2014 pledge cards to the church office or  during the church service tomorrow. We need everyone to turn in their card so our finance team can start plugging real numbers into the development of our 2014 budget. Thank you in advance as you and your family commit to support  the ministries of your church. Also, if you are a department head, and you received a 2014 budget request form, please remember to turn those into the church office by November 10. Thanks for all you do.

The Holidays are Here: Believe it or not, the holiday season is right around the corner. I love Thanksgiving and Christmas, and I love being around my family and friends. Will each of you make a commitment to attend church services through November and December? We want to see as many of our CPC family as we can during this awesome time to celebrate Christ's birth. As we draw closer to calling a new pastor, it's important to have as many of our congregation as possible in attendance and praying together.  Thanks so much, and I look forward to seeing you all Sunday.

I love being your Pastor for Now!

Pastor Ken

"TREK OR TREAT" 5K FUN RUN SUCCESS!

It was a picture perfect autumn day for more than 170 runners/walkers who came out to support the 5K Family Fun Run to benefit Laura Black and family. Over $4,000 was raised by the participants who enjoyed friendship, humor and surprises along the way. Many thanks to all who made this such a tremendous day for Laura!

CPC Christmas 2011

SAVE THE DATE! December 22nd Christmas Children's Program.

Stay tuned for upcoming details of our
March to the Manger.
On this special day, during the church service, we will come to the manger with our gifts to Jesus. There will be a reading of the story with a living nativity. Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, shepherds and wise men will all enter the sanctuary bearing gifts - and the whole congregation will join the scene, bringing our gifts to the manger.
This is a beautiful and tangible way for families to remind their children of the true meaning of Christmas. What will you bring? A deeper spiritual commitment? A financial gift to the church? An act of loving service? Canned food for the needy? Giving up an unhealthy habit? A letter expressing your heart? Wrap it up and bring it to the manger on December 22nd.

THE CLUBHOUSE: FRIENDS, FAMILY, FUN!

The Clubhouse sets sail for Schooner Island in November to share our faith. Like Paul on his missionary journeys - Jesus sends each of us out to bring his Good News.

  • November 3 - Jesus Sends Out the Disciples (Matthew 9:35 - 10:8; 28:19-20)  We boldly tell about Jesus.
  • November 10 - Peter and John Before the Council (Acts 4:1-14)  We help others know Jesus.
  • November 17 - Run the Race with Endurance (Hebrews 12:1-13  We live for Jesus.
  • November 24 - Paul Brings Eutychus Back to Life (Acts 20:7-12)  God uses us to do amazing things.
