| Product News and Reviews | PROFILE: The ELR - Cadillac Goes Green
Big news! General Motors recently announced that production will begin late next year of the Cadillac ELR, a luxury version of the Volt, GM's electric vehicle. Aiming to become the new standard in extended range electric vehicles, the ELR is based upon the highly acclaimed Cadillac Converj, first seen at the North American Auto Show in 2009, and will have both an electric motor powered by a lithium battery as well as a gasoline engine to generate electricity once the battery runs down.

| The 2013 SRX | |
What's in it for the kids?
The Cadillac SRX gets a family-friendly makeover for 2013. The newly revised interior will appeal not only to parents, but most notably to the backseat bunch with the integration of CUE (Cadillac User Experience) to the rear-seat entertainment system. A $1595 option for SRX models equipped with navigation, the system will incorporate two eight-inch flip-up screens mounted on the backs of the front seats. The system also includes separate ports for the rear-seat passengers to control their audio sources and inputs, as well as a new remote designed similar to a video game controller. The new entertainment system also has a Blu-Ray player and pair of wireless headphones as standard, too. An eight-speaker Bose audio system is standard on all SRX models, and a 10-speaker upgraded system is available for audiophiles who want to match Blu-Ray picture quality to top-notch sound. |
| Safety First | Get Prepared for Winter
You can't miss it, fall is in the air and that means winter is not too far behind. You've changed over your wardrobe and taken the necessary precautions for your home, but what about protecting your automobile? Cold weather can wreak havoc on your vehicle's performance and waiting until the thermometer hits freezing is too late to begin preparing. Just a few simple maintenance items will keep your vehicle operating at peak performance this winter.
- Wax On, Winter Off - To keep your vehicle cleaner, longer during winter months, make sure to give your car a thorough wash and wax before the cold weather hits. Wax will help prevents oxidation from dulling and damaging your vehicle's exterior.
- Prepare the Interior - Winter elements can also cause damage to the inside of your car. To prevent tracked-in mud, slush and snow from staining your interior, prep your vehicle with protective floor mats, available from Pepe Cadillac. Don't forget to remove any water based products, which can freeze and crack during winter, as well as any unnecessary items that can weigh down your car and lower your fuel efficiency.
- Check Tires - Damaged tires are no match for sleek, slippery roads. Get tires winter-ready by first examining their tread for thin or uneven tread wear, which reduces traction and can be very dangerous in winter weather. Cut or damaged sidewalls are also weak areas that can collapse under severe weather conditions. Remember to check the air pressure in your tires before and during winter months to ensure the best traction and mileage. Once your tires are in good shape, apply tire cleaner and protectant to help repel winter elements.
- Check Fluids - Maintaining proper fluid levels is critical to keeping your car working properly during the winter. A common mistake is forgetting to replace or top off summer windshield wiper fluid blends with winter blends that will not freeze when the temperature drops. Check your antifreeze and oil levels to prevent internal damage to your car, and keep your gas tank at least halfway full to help prevent gas line freeze.
