APRIL SHOWERS

When I think of the month of April I always think of the saying "April showers bring May flowers." As I was thinking of this the other day I could not help but to think of the showers of blessings that God has provided for me individually, how he restored me when I lost everything when our business failed in 2004, how he has blessed my wife and the mighty women she has become and the abilities that God has given her to operate a great ministry like Freedom Hall Recovery Center, how all of my girls love and serve The Lord in great capacities as Kayla is a mom not only her son but she has taken on the role of a foster parent for two wonderful children, Tori is a key member of our praise team as well provides Words of Prophecy and Encouragement  for our congregation, Aleah plays college volleyball on scholarship and Rio Grande University and is a light of encouragement and blessing to her teammates.
The blessings that God has provided to us a congregation of New Beginnings Outreach and Freedom Hall Recovery Center as he has placed a community of believers together to provide love, encouragement and great soil to for hurting and broken people to grow in their relationship with Christ, have emotional growth and be restored to society. Since 2004 HE has provided for every need of this ministry as we just started out to help a few people and now it has grown to 48 full time residents with a 3 month waiting list just to get a bed. HE has us sent us great friends like you that have partnered with us to change lives. Yes, as the old song says "there will be showers of blessings."

This month we are holding fast to this promise of blessings that not only meet the needs that we have here at Freedom Hall (18k per month) but provide abundance as we go into the summer months. If you have been partnering with us, we truly thank you and if you have never partnered with us we invite you to join us in this mighty fight against drug addiction and the restoration of broken lives.

Speaking of friends of this ministry last month we had 2 graduates to Heaven in Becky Joseph and Jay Canter each one of these loved Freedom Hall Recovery Center and both will be truly missed until we see them again.

TESTIMONIES OF HOPE

I was heavily involved with drugs and alcohol from the age of 16 to 28. The worst part of this time period of was that I did not believe that God existed. One night I cried out to God and said "God if you exist you have to help me!" Not long after I cried out to Him I reached out to my cousin for help and she gave me number to a ministry in North Carolina and I was added to the waiting list and I arrived there in May of 2013 with the attitude that I would deal with all the religious stuff and I would use these 10 weeks to rest and figure things out, little did I know that God had his own plan. The very next day after I arriving a visiting pastor arrived and gave his testimony and the power of that testimony stirred something inside of me. As he finished he gave an invitation to come for to receive Christ in their heart and I went forward and accepted Christ as my savior that day. The next day at chapel I noticed that I could understand what the pastor was preaching about and I believed it. Over the next few days I kept pulling away saying to myself "I do not believe any of this something else is going on." A few days later I was at dinner and I felt this intense urge to go pray and I went to my room and laid on the bed and said "God I feel you there, just please take away the rest of this doubt." The instant I finished praying it was like he took His Hand and wiped across my forehead and took all the doubt away and filled the whole room with his presence. From that moment forward I had no doubt that God exist and that He lives in me. Since that time I have seen Him do some amazing things in my life and use me in some mighty ways. I still struggle with addiction as it has been a thorn in my side. God put Freedom Hall's number in my hand and since being here I am receiving all kinds of healing and blessing from The Lord through this ministry. I know that God will guide my steps within this ministry and beyond. All Glory to God! Amen!

Ever since I have allowed God into my life and allowed Him to take control I rarely dwell on my past anymore. I have felt an overwhelming peace at times like no other time in my life. I have come from running the streets just worrying about when I was going to get my next high, even if I had to steal for it to a place I do not care about drugs at all. I am changed forever from a hopeless dope fiend to a dope less hope fiend.
