Project Update

Auxiliary supporters donated over $17,000 to fund our three standing projects and all of our annual projects during
2013-14!

Watch for the new project list after our annual meeting, and talk to your women's group or interested individuals about adopting one of our projects for this coming year.

Auxiliary National Meeting on October 25

2014 Auxiliary President Laurie Millner shares a light moment with 2013 President Janine Enter.

The 2014 Annual Ladies' Auxiliary National Meeting will be held Saturday, October 25, with registration in the Luther Student Center (LSC) at 8:30 am. Based on the theme "Let the Children Praise the Lord," attendees will learn about the new programs at MLC, select new projects for 2014-15 (many interesting submissions this year!), and work together with other MLC supporters. Lunch will be available in the LSC. A report from our new vice president for academics, Dr. Jeff Wiechman, as well as student entertainment will highlight the morning. Workshops on "Timely Topics for Today" and a closing service in the Chapel of the Christ round out the afternoon. Make plans to attend this annual event in support of our WELS College of Ministry. Childcare will be available, and food donations for the MLC Food Bank will be accepted. For more information on the meeting and promotional materials, visit our website.

Auxiliary Promotes

"Befriend a Student" Program

Auxiliary members visited with their "Befriended" student Hannah Hackbarth

The MLC Ladies' Auxiliary would like to assist congregations in finding one (or more) students who would appreciate some encouraging words during their time at MLC. The Auxiliary has named this the "Befriend an MLC Student" program.

When a congregation expresses an interest, Auxiliary representatives will send the congregation a photo, mailing address, e-mail address, and birth date of the selected MLC student(s). The Ladies' Auxiliary will also send along suggestions of encouragement that other congregations have used in the past. The goal of the program is to set up a "friend" for as many MLC students as possible. To participate, email us at [email protected], and we will send you the name of an MLC student you can encourage. (To those who have already sent in requests, thank you! We are working at establishing a list of new students and will fill those requests soon.)

Auxiliary Members Welcome New FamiliesHospitality Tent

The MLC Hospitality Area served a valuable function as the Auxiliary greeted families to the campus during Freshman Orientation August 21-22. Auxiliary members helped families navigate the campus, shared tips for new college parents, and introduced parents to the work of the Auxiliary. The "Befriend an MLC Student" program also generated a lot of excitement with parents as they learned how the Ladies' Auxiliary works hard to provide extra support for their college students. Thank you to all the Auxiliary members who staffed the area this year.
