National Meeting Fulfills Its Goals

 

The purpose of the MLC Ladies' Auxiliary is fourfold:

1. To promote greater interest in Martin Luther College 

2. To promote Christian fellowship among women of WELS and those in fellowship with WELS

3. To give financial support to MLC by supplying funds for needed projects 

4. To support MLC and its students through prayer

 

The annual Auxiliary meeting was held Saturday, October 5. That meeting accomplished all four purposes of the organization. Presentations and workshops provided attendees a greater understanding and appreciation of MLC's ministry. Wonderful fellowship was enjoyed by all at registration, lunch, and worship. Generous support provided large offerings designated to fund the project list. Finally, all connected to the Auxiliary, finding this their highest honor, prayed for the students, staff, and faculty. Auxiliary Donations Start Strong

 

MLC Ladies' Auxiliary  gathered about $15,000 this past year, funding non-budgeted materials for many different departments, including scholarships, outreach programs, Early Childhood Learning Center furniture (toddler changing table pictured), classroom materials, and music equipment. At the annual meeting, a project list totaling over $17,000 was adopted for funding. The attendees started the project fund off strong with $4,000+ donations collected that day. Also, an individual came forward and volunteered to fund one project independently! We appreciate the great support we have received for these projects. "Befriend an MLC Student" Program Begins

Once you have notified the Auxiliary that your church would like to take part in this program (email [email protected]), we will send you a photo, mailing address, e-mail address, and birth date of one of the MLC students. We will also send you a list of ways other congregations have encouraged MLC students. Your congregation can decide how best to encourage this young person. If there is an individual or family within your congregation who would like to befriend a different student, please give them this information and ask them to contact us. Our goal is to set up a "friend" for as many students as possible. Visit the MLC website for more details.
