If you're like me, you'd rather think of Valentine's Day and supporting kids than listen to the political rhetoric that is surrounding us in the U.S. this election season.

But we can all feel the frustration the candidates are tapping into - that the middle class is a thing of the past in our country, and that it really is no longer possible for the everyday person to get ahead, let alone someone who has fallen on hard times!!

Nurse-Family Partnership is working to change that, one mom and one baby at a time.  The model is simple -- pair a nurse with a first-time, low-income mom who has volunteered to participate in the program, and provide regular home visits from early in the pregnancy until the baby's second birthday.

Watch the short video below and you will be touched.

Nurse Family Partnership at work.

The goal:  break the cycle of inter-generational poverty.

Here are some outcomes:
  • 48% reduction in child abuse and neglect,
  • 56% reduction in emergency room visits for accidents/poisonings,
  • 59% reduction in arrest of children at age 15, and
  • 67% reduction in behavioral and intellectual problems in children at age six.

You can support this remarkable, proven program by clicking here and making a donation. We guarantee that this Valentine goes a lot further than a box of chocolates!

Important Announcement:

If you are in the San Francisco Bay Area, join our local chapter on March 19 in a walk around Oakland's Lake Merritt, fundraising for Nurse Family Partnership.  It will be a great way to spend the First Day of Spring.

Click here for more information on the walk.

Thank you for joining us to support children everywhere.

Sincerely,
