November 21, 2015
Many of you joined us, and more of you gave, for our first GG fundraising walk on November 14.
Thanks to you (48 donors!), we raised a total of $3276 for Save the Children's Child Refugee Crisis Appeal. Hurrah!
Those of us who walked enjoyed duel benefits, a beautiful day with camaraderie and conversation, along with the knowledge that some child's life was going to be better because of what we were doing.

News of the Paris bombing reached us just before the walk, making even more timely our efforts to raise these funds. Random bombing scares all of us, and it's even more scary for these children.
Migrants and refugees are part of what Thanksgiving is about. The pilgrims, refugees fleeing religious persecution in England, gave thanks for their new home and for the Native American hosts who helped feed them. As we give thanks for our home and the bounty we enjoy, our history lets us identify with all those seeking a home this Thanksgiving.
Giving is one way to show our gratitude for our good fortune, and nothing is more gratifying than giving as part of a community.
Thank you all, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Sincerely,
Diana McDonough President
