How sad that the last week in April has become desperate for so many in Nepal.
You have heard that more than 4000 have died, and that shelter is gone for many more. We can barely imagine the catastrophe, and the fear and insecurity haunting Nepalis, especially the children.
We can help, and our resources can make a real difference.
Two GG-recommended charities are already at work there, Save the Children and the Nepal Youth Foundation, and they're asking us to support their efforts. Both have earned 4-star ratings from Charity Navigator and are highly reviewed by other charity assessors. Save the Children has more than 500 staff in Nepal and has extensive experience addressing emergencies. They are providing temporary shelter and baby care packs right now. Click here to learn more. Nepal Youth Foundation began 25 years ago under the leadership of Californian Olga Murray. Eighty-nine year-old (!) Olga was in Katmandu at the time of the quake and sheltered 50 people in her garden for two nights. Now NYF is committed to assist with emergency relief in two immediate ways, providing supplies to hospitals and specially assisting pregnant women and children in need of shelter. Thank you for joining us in caring for children everywhere, and sharing in the joy that comes with helping.
