You may have noticed that the holidays raise unique opportunities to talk with kids about giving,  For instance, read this:

"Mom, why do we need Toys for Tots if we have Santa?"

Now there's a question to get a mom thinking! How do you address all that's included there?  And how do you let that little conscientious brain and susceptible heart have a role?

One answer is Global Grandmothers core concept - linked giving. Give to a child in need when you give to someone you love, and let your loved one know what you did.

Linked giving lets your grandchild - or child - participate in global caring.  So moms are using linked giving too, -- as evidenced by the moms pictured below in a recent Facebook post.

GG Moms
"We believe linked giving grows children into caring global citizens."

So, ready to make your linked gifts? Here are 4 ideas:

1.  Give to a GG recommended charityClick here for our list.  Then click on the "Give Now" button and select the charity of your choice, or select Global Grandmothers choice, and we'll pick for you.

2.  Use our gift card (click here) to let your loved one know what you did, especially if it's for a child.

3.  Contribute to the College Access Tax Credit Fund (click here) if you are a Californian looking for a tax credit.  It will provide books and living expenses for low-income college students.

4.  Register at Amazon Smile (click here) if you use Amazon and let the charity of your choice get .5% of your purchases. You only have to register once.

May you enjoy the riches that only giving can bring - and thank you for joining us in our quest to make the world more equitable.

In 2014 the World's Children's Prize went to Malala Yousafzai. However, John Wood, the founder of GG recommended charity Room to Read, was one of two honorary recipients. Here's what he said at the time of the award:

"We're all too aware that over 250 million children around the world are not learning.  The majority live in poor countries, and 2/3 are girls.  Through no fault of their own, they were born 'in the wrong place, at the wrong time,' and they are not getting an education.  The odds are stacked against them from the day they are born, and they risk being one more generation to live in abject poverty."
