"The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice."
If you have ever doubted the truth of Martin Luther King's statement, the story of Vivienne Harr's campaign against child slavery will restore your faith!
Eight-year old Vivienne committed to sell lemonade every day for a year to raise money to combat child slavery.
New documentary. Now a new feature documentary, #standwithme, tells her story as well as educating the viewer on the larger issue. The film, showing in 30 cities starting in February, also screens a conversation between Vivienne and Olga Murray, the 88-year old founder of Nepal Youth Foundation, a GG-recommended charity and an early fighter of child slavery.

#standwithme the Official Trailer |
Above you see the picture which galvanized Vivienne - it is the first frame of the trailer of #standwithme.
Make a Stand Lemon-aid. Vivienne's enterprise, with the help of her parents, grew to a company, Make a Stand Lemon-aid, which makes its product available in 150 retail outlets and gives 5% of its sales to end child slavery. Nepal Youth Foundation is one of the charities Make a Stand Lemon-aid has chosen to support.
March 8th - NYF. Given all of this buzz, on March 8th Global Grandmothers is especially happy to host Som Paneru, the President and Executive Director of Nepal Youth Foundation, at a GG-sponsored San Francisco Bay Area tea and talk from 2-4 in Sausalito, California. NYF has earned Charity Navigator 4 star ratings for 7 consecutive years and Som is a product of the NYF program. If you are in the area, we hope you will join us. Som inspires, engages and educates all at the same time! Expect an e-vite with details soon.
Just think, each of us may be the grandparent of another Vivienne Harr, and hopefully a change-maker ourselves!
Sincerely,
Diana McDonough
President, Global Grandmothers
