I love the title of a recent book on fundraising, The Generosity Network, -- and it seems meant for the holiday season.
It made me think about how Global Grandmothers gives me a chance to belong to that network -- and how I want my grandchildren to have the joy of being a part of it too. You likely feel the same way.
This gift-giving season offers special opportunities to do that - your grandchildren see you giving and they want to be givers too, not just to those they know, but also to those they don't.
Here's some help -- a short list for holiday linked gifts - all GG recommended, having earned Charity Navigator's 4 stars and met other
criteria. Give to any one of these charities and let your grandchild know that they participate in the "Generosity Network."
-
Camfed- which has now funded secondary school for 99,477 girls in sub-Saharan Africa, with a 90% completion rate.
- NPH - this year providing a home to 3300 Latin American children in 9 countries.
- Nepal Youth Foundation - more than 1300 girls now participate in their Freed Kamlari Development Forum (FKDF).
- Partners In Health - bringing the benefits of modern medicine to the poor of 10 countries, including Haiti, Rwanda, and the US.
- Polaris Project - fighting human trafficking worldwide by advocacy and the development of hotlines which, in the US alone, received more than 20,000 calls in one year.
- Room to Read - has built 1627 schools, established 15,082 libraries, and distributed about 13 million books in the developing world since 2000.
- Save the Children - providing a safety net for children worldwide including those victimized by the Philippine typhoon and the Syrian civil war.

If you have younger grandchildren or dear ones, don't forget to copy our
Passport of Giving (cover and pages) which lets them keep track of their global gifts. See the GG Kids' Page for more details.
May you have the happiest of holiday seasons and a bountiful New Year. Thank you for joining us in the quest to make the world more equitable, more healthy, and more prosperous for the world's children.
