December 26, 2012  Greetings! Your giving makes a difference - and there are a few more days to do it in 2012! In 1981 there were 1.9 billion people living in extreme poverty. Now there are 1.4 billion. Given population growth, that means 4 in 10 people were extremely poor in 1981. Now it is only 1 in 4. Sad information, but still an improvement.
