Greetings!

This week offers two special opportunities to be inspired as Paola Gianturco introduces her new book Grandmother Power with slide-shows in the San Francisco Bay area.
  • Saturday, December 1, 4:00 PM, at Book Passage, 51 Tamal Vista Boulevard, Corte Madera, California. The event is free but an RSVP is requested.  Go to http://globalgrandmotherpower.com/events.html for details.
  • Monday, December 3, 6:00 PM at The Commonwealth Club of California , 595 Market Street-Blue Room, San Francisco, California. Registration for members is free.  Nonmembers should register at 415-597-6707 or http://www.commonwealthclub.org/events/
The slide show previews the book's amazing stories and photos on what grandmothers are doing in 15 different countries on 5 continents to make children's lives better. The lead story tells how a group of Canadian grandmothers have raised $13 million since 2006 to assist African grandmothers who are raising their grandchildren orphaned by AIDS.
