Greetings!

When I joined Global Grandmothers I had no idea that other grandmothers across the globe shared our vision.  Now I realize Global Grandmothers is one face of a global movement to support children.

This movement is the topic of Paola Gianturco's new book Grandmother Power: A Global Phenomenon.  Paola joined GG a year ago after finding us on the web, and serves as a GG advisor -- so we are very proud.

Complete with 225 color photos, Paola's book documents what grandmothers are doing in 15 different countries on 5 continents to make children's lives better.  The compelling stories of these activist grandmothers told in their own words reinforced my own commitment to our mission - to support children worldwide.

The lead story tells how a group of Canadian grandmothers have raised $13 million since 2006 to assist African grandmothers who are raising their grandchildren orphaned by AIDS.  In interviews with these inspiring women - in Canada, in Swaziland, and in South Africa - you get close to them and feel the challenge and excitement of what they are doing.

Paola is donating the royalties from the book to the organization behind this amazing grassroots effort, the Stephen Lewis Foundation's Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign.

The book is available on Amazon and at your local independent bookstore.  Click on www.globalgrandmotherpower.com to learn more.  You will also find Global Grandmothers listed there as a North American grandmother group.

You can read more about all of this in a Huffington Post interview where Paola recommends taking the Global Grandmothers pledge as a positive step to help the world's children.    Click here to read the interview in full.

We're excited about Paola's book.  We hope you will enjoy it too.
