Happy International Women's Day from Global Grandmothers! Global Grandmothers owes its existence to women like you who are ready to work for a better world. Thank you for being there. Here's what one of our members told me last week about the special links between the globe and grandchildren which Global Grandmothers fosters: Thanks to Global Grandmothers, I am having more fun with my giving, and with being a grandmother! Just before Valentine's Day, I received a letter from CHABHA, a fine charity that supports children orphaned because of AIDS in Africa. It included a photo of two dancing African girls and suggested that I could make a Valentine's gift to help such girls who are now heads of their households. I chose to donate $50 to buy a goat.
When I gave my granddaughters, ages 6 and 3, their Valentines, I shared the picture with them and told them about the goat. They both loved the photo, and my older granddaughter was quite excited by what I had done. I'm so glad to have made that gift and shared it with my grandchildren. Thank you, Global Grandmothers, for this wonderful idea.
