Board schedules special meeting to name new principals
The Board of Education will schedule a special meeting for Wednesday, February 18, for the purposes of naming the new principals for both GBN and GBS.

 

"It's a unique opportunity to hire two principals during the same period of time," said Superintendent Dr. Mike Riggle. "This is definitely a first for the Glenbrooks, and we are looking forward to announcing our new leaders in the coming days."

 

The district conducted an extensive search process, where selected applicants interviewed with parents, students, staff and Board of Education members over the past week.

Board approves increase in bus fees

For the first time since 2010, District 225 will raise student bus fees by 3.7 percent for the 2015-16 school year. The district will continue to offer the 50 percent sibling rider and $25 online registration discounts.

 

"The district provides bus service as a convenience to our families and has always operated a break-even, or rider-subsidized program," said Assistant Superintendent for Business Hillarie Siena. "This slight increase for the upcoming school year will help to offset our projected transportation costs."

 

Cost of student transportation is:

*    $700 if registered between April 6 - June 5, 2015 ($25 increase)

*    $830 if registered after June 5, 2015 ($30 increase)

 

The official registration period runs from April 6 - June 5, 2015. After June 5, seats will be offered on an available basis and based on established stops and routes.
