District 225 begins search for Glenbrook North and Glenbrook South principals

The 2015-16 school year will bring new leaders to both Glenbrook schools, as District 225 seeks candidates for the principal positions at GBN and GBS.

The GBS vacancy is a result of current principal Dr. Brian Wegley's acceptance of a superintendent position with Northbrook/Glenview District 30.

"It's a unique challenge for our district as we seek to hire two principals during the same period of time," said Superintendent Dr. Mike Riggle, referring the fact that in addition to the vacancy at GBS, Dr. Paul Pryma, GBN principal, will be retiring at the end of this school year. "We congratulate Dr. Wegley on his new position and wish him the very best in his new endeavor," Riggle continued. "It is comforting to know that he will remain in our school community actively working to prepare students who will enter both GBS and GBN in the future."

Since learning of Dr. Wegley's departure just prior to winter break, the Glenbrooks have readjusted the search process so that both timelines align. The district plans to conduct interviews in early February, with the goal of presenting the two finalists to the Board of Education by the end of that same month.
