Communications survey reveals increase in satisfaction and trust
Overall satisfaction with communication efforts, trust and support has increased since 2011, according to a recent communications telephone survey of Glenbrook High School District 225 residents.
When asked to rate "overall communications," 75 percent of residents said it was "good"" or "excellent," an improvement of 12 percent since 2011. What's more, the 12 percent improvement was entirely derived from gains in the "excellent" category.
Participants were also asked if they "Trust the Board and Administration to do what's best for students," to which 89 percent said they "strongly agreed" or "somewhat agreed." This represents a six percent increase since 2011.
"We are pleased to see that our community recognizes the improvements we have made in the past three years to enhance our communications efforts," said Director of Public Relations and Communications Karen Geddeis. "We will use this input, along with feedback from our bi-annual online survey of students, parents and staff, as we craft our next three-year communications plan."
The telephone survey targeted Glenbrook residents with no current students in its schools. The district utilized a contracted service called Public Opinions Strategies to reach out to 300 residents over a two-day period in early March. Of of the total number of respondents, 56 percent came from Glenview and 44 percent from Northbrook. The survey has a margin of error of + 5.66 percent.
"We are grateful to our survey participants for providing us with valuable input," said Geddeis. "It's so important that we listen to their needs and implement changes to our current practices as appropriate."
The remainder of the survey focused on information sources and communication preferences. Not surprisingly, the data demonstrates an increase in social media use among its residents, most notably the utilization of LinkedIn.
