Board recognizes GBN State Championship golfers

Hardy for their outstanding performances at the IHSA 2013 state golf championship, where they claimed two of the top three spots.
Ohr won the state championship and Hardy placed third in the state championship held in Bloomington, IL on October 19.
"We are equally proud of both of you for your sportsmanship, skill, and the way in which you represented Glenbrook North," said Principal Dr. Paul Pryma.

Board reviews three policies, proposes a new one
A subcommittee of the Board and administration meet regularly to review and revise policies as needed. The Board recently reviewed Safety and Security (5010), Application for Approval of Courses for Advancement on the Teacher's Salary Schedule (6075), and Student Attendance Areas (8020). In addition, the subcommittee is recommending a new policy, Student Athlete Concussions and Head Injuries (8600) in order to be in compliance with state code. The district has been advertising the inherent risk of concussions and head injuries for students who elect to participate in interscholastic athletics since 2011 when the code was passed, however has yet to adopt a formal policy.

Fall community newsletters mailed to district residents In the coming week, every resident and business within the District 225 boundaries will receive a printed copy of the fall community newsletter, The Glenbrooks.
