Board continues digital pilot expansion discussion

The Board of Education continued a discussion from their meeting on May 6, when students and teachers shared feedback from the digital pilot and its impact on learning. After considering many options, the Board supported the concept of expanding the pilot program to distribute a ChromeBook laptop to every freshman and sophomore starting with the 2013-14 school year.

The administration will continue to work on a business model that would address student and district costs, equity among grade levels and further assessment of the pilot program. The Board is expected to continue to discuss the pilot at an upcoming regularly scheduled meeting.
