Suppose that a pregnant woman in Nimpkish, B.C. is diagnosed with gestational diabetes. If the same woman is screened in another part of Canada she may not be diagnosed with gestational diabetes. The different screening criteria may affect how her pregnancy is managed and subsequently may impact her child's health.

How would the most optimal screening practice be determined?

One way is through a systematic review, a specialty of the Alberta Research Centre for Health Evidence (ARCHE).

ILS locks in the Discovery Mall

Most doors along the Discovery Mall use ILS locks. When these doors are propped open, the batteries in the locks run down quickly and the mechanisms themselves wear out faster. This may mean the doors cannot be opened normally; replacing the batteries and servicing the locks can take a day or more and is charged to the occupant group. If you would like your doors programmed to be open during the day, submit a request to echa.admin@ualberta.ca. indicating the door number and the desired open hours. Please do not prop these doors open.

What's your address?

All deliveries to offices in ECHA go through Supply and Management Services (SMS). The required format all ECHA addresses is:

Attention: Contact Person
Department Name (this is essential)
Building, Room Number (e.g. ECHA 3-398)
11405 87 Ave. NW
Edmonton, Alberta T6G 1C9

Improperly addressed items may be refused and returned to the sender. Please ensure you provide the correct address using the format above.
