Greetings!
Wow! What a simple statement. We have all seen the guy on TV who puts on a blind fold and then proceeds to throw knives at his beautiful assistant. And if you are honest, each one of us has said to ourselves, "You wouldn't get me up there to let him throw knives at me!" Of coarse not, and if you did, I would have to refer you to a Therapist. But to get serious for a moment, don't each of us do that every day?
How many of us get up in the morning with a clear and precise plan for our day. I mean a real plan. Not just a laundry list of things that we need to accomplish. I am talking about a hour by hour specific list of what we want to make happen, and a course of action on how to make it so.
Yeah... I didn't think so.
So are we really any better than the guy on stage? Outside of your family, there is nothing more valuable than your time. It is the one commodity in life that is NOT replenishable. When it's gone, it's gone.
So now let's look at what we want to accomplish today, tomorrow, next week, this quarter, this year.... The process doesn't change. You need three things in order to hit your target, and if you don't have these three things, then you are blind folded.
1. A Clear Goal - Get specific. Don't say, " I want to be in better shape". What you need to say is, "I am going to lose 10 lbs. in the next two months"
2. A Clear Plan Of Action - Write down exactly how you are going to accomplish this goal. What changes will be required, what supplies do you need, who's help will you enlist, what possible obstacles will you encounter and how will you overcome them?
3. Get off your butt and do it! All the planning in the world will not help you get off of the couch. At some point you have to decide that you are going to move into a field of action and take control of your future!
These three simple steps will set you down a path to success in any area of your life. That is the great thing about it. It doesn't matter if you are looking for personal, professional or even spiritual growth. The process is the same across the board.
Give it a try.....
What do you have to lose?
Respectfully,
