Goals - Everyone has them. So what is the difference between those who achieve, and those who just believe. Believing in yourself is great, but unless you marry that with action, you will always be just that... a believer.
So how do you introduce the necessary action into your belief in your self? Set SMART Goals! Please understand this, these ideas are not mine. I am not a Guru from on high. I have been fortunate enough to surround myself with highly successful individuals who are more than happy to impart their knowledge on me.
SMART goals are goals that are laid out in a fashion that will provide you with a road map to success. If you follow the road to your goals, you will achieve them.
S - Specific - Don't generalize, get very specific on what you want to achieve.
M - Measurable - Make sure that your goal is quantifiable, or measurable. Don't say, "I want to get in better shape", you should be saying, " I am going to reduce my BMI to 17%."
A - Attainable - Make sure that your goals are within your reach.
R - Realistic - If you have never been a runner, then planning to run the Boston Marathon is probably not realistic this year. Make sure that your goals are small and realistic.
T - Timely - Make sure that each goal has an
"Achieve Date" . If you want to lose five pounds, then make a time and date that the goal should be accomplished by. If you are not educated in the area of concern, make sure to talk to someone who is.
These are SMART goals. If you follow this plan, I assure you that you greatly increase the likelihood of going from "Believer" to "Achiever".
