Greetings!

 

 

When you look back on your greatest victories, how many of those came from situations that just "Happened"?  

 

Now how many of those same victories were the result of a great deal of work and or dedication?

 

You will never hear a World Class Athlete say," I was just born this way. It has always been easy for me." You are more likely to hear them talk about the thousands of hours on the field, or in the gym. In turn you  will very rarely hear a successful & wealthy business owner or employee say, "My Job is so easy!" They will typically describe 60 hour work weeks, waking up before their competition, and never backing down when rejected.    

 

Rarely do we have a situation when great things come from nothing. If you really look back at the best moments in your life you will typically find that your best friendships took a lot of work to maintain, your greatest wins came after some of your greatest losses, and that the "Pressure" to succeed is what created the catalyst to victory.

 

"Pressure Creates Diamonds" reminds us that one of the most valuable substances on earth comes from the presence of unbelievable geological pressure. Much like the hard times in each of our lives, these times will often create gems in our personal lives.

 

Diamonds are "Clear"

We need to have a "Clear" sense of purpose. Why are we working hard. What is our goal?

 

Diamonds are "Hard"

We have to be resilient. When times are "Hard", we have to have a strong foundation and understanding that all winners have losses in their score column.

 

Diamonds have great "Value"

We have to know our "Value" as a professional. The hard work and experience that we have in our fields carries with it a price tag. While Modesty and Humility are always important, it is equally important that we understand the 'Value" that we bring into any situation.  

 

I know that each of the students here at Kuk Sool Pasadena is on their way to creating a wealth of gems in their own lives. With the skills and discipline offered in martial arts training, each of us can learn to harness the good from any situation in order to manifest a winning spirit.
