Greetings!

Fear ,Lack of Preparation, and asking the wrong question are sure to be the corner stones of most of the questions we have but never ask.

The mere fact that the question has entered your brain is evidence of your desire for an answer, so why not ask the question? Here are a few reasons why most people do not.

1. They already know the answer, and it is not the one that they want.

2. They are afraid of the impact that the answer will have on their lives, ego, routine, etc.

3. Fear of rejection. They can't stand to make themselves vulnerable to a "NO".

I typically find that if a person is asking a question that they already know the answer to, they are not usually looking for the right answer, but the one they want to hear.

Having spent many years in Large Retail Management and now a decade in running a highly successful Martial Arts School, it has been imperative that I learn how to ask "Good" questions. If you have ever read "The QBQ" then you already know what I am talking about, but let me give you an example.

Wrong Question -
"When are YOU going to start making healthier meals so I can lose some of this weight!"

Right Question -
"Where can I find some healthy recipes to share with my family?"

Many times we will not ask the question needed because it may upset the balance of our lives if we get the right answer.
It is important to remember that if the "Correct" answer will change our lives, then we probably NEED that change!

Finally, we get to the title of this article. Most often the reason we do not ask the question is because we are afraid of getting a "No". I would encourage you, if in this situation, to do your homework first. If you are expecting a "No", be sure to have a follow up question.

Question-
Do you think that my current eating and training habits will help me to lose this weight?
Answer -
No
Follow Up Question -
What can I do to make the necessary changes in my daily nutrition and physical training to achieve my goals?

These types of questions are positive and productive. Although the first question may be answered with a no, if we are willing to grow and learn, the best lessons in life will come from the "No's"  that we turn into "Yes's".

Respectfully,
