Greetings!
I have had the great fortune to meet, befriend and regularly associate with man world class athletes in my life time, and they all had one thing in common. They " Refuse To Lose!"
Now of coarse that does not mean that they have never lost a fight, tournament, or game. This mentality speaks more to the way that that they win and lose. I have always shared with my students the idea that winning is great. It's great for your confidence. It's great for your reputation. It's even great for your ego! But the losses that we stack up in life are where the real learning comes from.
Every time that I have lost, I have taken away a lesson. It may have been a lesson in humility, technique, follow through, dedication, or any one of a hundred other areas.
The real "Winner", is the person who takes the opportunity to grow from every aspect in life. I enjoy a pat on the back and the congratulations after a great win as much as anyone else. But I have to be honest when I tell you that I have never really spent very much time reflecting on why I won.I have however spent countless hours on the mat working on areas that I felt contributed to a loss.
This teaching holds true in my personal life as well as my professional one. Any time I lose a student, I want to know why. Did we give them our best? Could we have been better in a certain area for them? Did they receive our best teaching every day?
This type of self evaluation is what has brought Kuk Sool Pasadena to the top of it's class in the Pasadena Area for going over 10 years now.
My team of Instructors " Refuse To Lose" attitude has made them some of the best Instructors in what is a very difficult market. But as long as we are willing to take our lumps, then get back up and look at ourselves and our areas of improvement, then we can't be beat! Because we are better every time we lose.
"Refuse To Lose"
Ted Williams was the last person in Major League Baseball to have a batting average over .400 in a season. But that means that he still lost 6 out of 10 times! Is anyone talking about his losses? No... instead they put him in the Hall Of Fame!
See you at the top!
Respectfully,
Sa Bum Nym Jason P.S. If you know of someone in your life who could benefit from our training, let us know together we can team up to get them started on the road to excellence.
