This Thanksgiving, we thank our Champions for Justice
On this day of thanks, the Birmingham Bar Volunteer Lawyers Program (BBVLP) and its board want to express its sincere and abundant gratitude to our Champions for Justice financial supporters, especially the six new firms who pledged three-year commitments in the past week:
  • Bressler Amery & Ross -- $15,000
  • Heninger Garrison Davis -- $10,000
  • Wallace Jordan Ratliff & Brandt -- $7,500
  • Upchurch Watson White & Max -- $5,000
  • Badham & Buck -- $3,000
  • Ogletree Deakins -- $3,000
  • Spotswood Sansom & Sansbury -- $3,000
With the addition of the above firms' commitments totaling $46,500 over three years, the Champions for Justice Campaign is only $98,000 away from the goal of $500,000.

Private law firm support is the number one funding source for the BBVLP. Without the consistent support of Birmingham area law firms, the BBVLP would not be able to conduct programming to help attorneys provide pro bono services to more than 2,000 deserving clients a year.

These clients include families who are able to remain in safe housing because the BBVLP successful stopped a foreclosure; mothers escaping violent relationships when the BBVLP obtained a way out for them; fathers able to remain financially stable when the BBVLP won against wrongful creditors; and other clients who simply were able to put a legal roadblock behind them so they are now able to live productive lives.

We hope that you will consider making a difference in the lives of Birmingham residents by making your commitment to the BBVLP today, on Thanksgiving, by clicking here.

Happy Thanksgiving!
