Young "Ding" Darling

Loyal fans of the "Ding" Darling Refuge are coming up with creative ways to raise the final $150,000 to reach DDWS' Preservation Campaign goal of $1.8 million to purchase the 6 1/2 acre Woodring Homestead and update the "Ding" Darling Education Center.
Big thanks to ..
Artist Myra Roberts for her pledge of 50 percent of the sales price of her Young "Ding" Darlingportrait. The painting has been appraised at $12,000 and is on display at The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company through April.
Tarpon Bay Explorer co-owner and guide Wendy Schnapp for donating her March guiding tips to the campaign.

Summer Programs |
 There will be more than ever to do at the Refuge this summer. With support from the "Ding" Darling Wildlife Society, an expanded calender of programs runs from May 21 to August 15, 2013.
"With the temporary closing of Wildlife Drive for repaving and other improvements from May 1 through September, we put our heads together to develop enough activities to keep visitors busy and nature-engaged throughout  the summer break," said Ranger Becky Wolff, Refuge Education Specialist.
