In response to news that "Ding" Darling Wildlife Society is kicking off a Refuge Preservation Campaign to purchase sensitive Woodring Point lands and improve the Refuge Education Center, Tarpon Bay Explorers last week pledged the campaign's first business contribution of $10,000.

Judges gathered last week to award prizes to winners of the Annual Youth Photo Contest, sponsored each year by Bank of the Islands.
The bank hosts middle schoolers from The Sanibel School and Cypress Lake Middle School (CLMS) for a Refuge photography shoot and then helps judge the results. The Sanibel School winners were Zachary Farst, first place; Kilyn Fox, second place; and Hannah Fay, third place. From CLMS Madison Brewer took first place; Kameron Smith, second place; Paige Schneider, third. Congratulations to all our winners and participants! Winning entires are on display at Bank of the Islands on Sanibel Island.
