Meet Duck Stamp Artist "Rock Star" Joe Hautman

Joe Hautman's winning 2011 painting has been made into the 2012-2013 Federal Duck Stamp.

Joe Hautman's earliest experience as a professional artist came after he won his first Federal Duck Stamp (FDS) contest in 1991. Although he had never sold a painting, he suddenly found himself visiting President George H. Bush in the Oval Office, and Receiving honors for his artistic achievements.

After that, the Minnesota native went on to win the national 2002 competition and 2007 75th Federal Duck Stamp contest which was held on Sanibel Island. Last year, his acrylic portrait of a single wood duck won to become  the national 2012-2013 FDS, #4 for the 57-year-old artisit.

Joe will make a special appearance at the Refuge during "Ding" Darling Days READ MORE
