Supervisory Refuge Ranger Toni Westland is just back from Russia, where she embarked on a two-week conservation mission, representing the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge.

Manatee Week Planned

 This November, the Refuge plans to celebrate the debut of its new interactive "Marvelous Manatees" Exhibit with a week of unveiling activities, manatee education, and new manatee-related items in the Refuge Nature Store.

Each DOTW issue, we will highlight one event during "Ding" Darling Days, Oct. 14-20. Here's this week's:

Viewers will meet a young, renegade Jay Darling, our Refuge's namesake  and a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, at the premier of the documentary "America's Darling" produced by Marvo Entertainment.

As part of the Refuge System's new "Get Your Goose On" campaign, the "Ding" Blue Goose is getting around these days.  Here he was sighted at Jensen's Island Resorts & Marina, one of the Refuge's valuable Guest Contribution Program  accommodation partners.  (GCP)
