SC Highways: "You get what you pay for"
South Carolina's deteriorating roads and bridges cost citizens in numerous ways-from increased vehicle maintenance costs to lost time to lost lives. Spring Golf Tournament sells out
The Chamber's 23rd annual Spring Golf Tournament has sold out. Scheduled Monday at the Country Club of Lexington, the tournament will feature morning and afternoon rounds. Players are asked to arrive 45 minutes before their 8 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. tee times. Breakfast is sponsored by Chick-fil-A; lunch is sponsored by US Foods.

The goodies keep rolling in for the Chamber's Get Your Bid On Silent Auction and Wine Tasting. A Steve Spurrier-signed football and a Jack Leggett-signed baseball top this week's list of higher-valued auction items. Sixteen different wines, a specialty cocktail, and a spread of heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served. The acoustic duo of Roy Daye, Jr. and J. Michael Peeples will play; a photo booth will be available to capture fun moments.
Education, health, homelessness United Way's focus
Lexington County people and companies are critical in helping United Way of the Midlands make the community better, the agency's CEO said Tuesday. Addressing about 190 Chamber members at the May breakfast meeting, Mac Bennett congratulated individuals and businesses for their generosity and service.
