White grubs may be the most damaging turf insect pests in the United States. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Japanese beetle grubs alone cause an estimated $234 million in damage each year. In lawns, where roots are conveniently close together, they cause the most damage. Grass is easily pulled away from the soil because the white grubs have eaten off the roots. Dead or yellow dying grass is a primary symptom. Grub prevention can protect your lawn and keep you in the green.

Now is the time to apply a preventative grub control application. If you or your neighbors have had grubs in recent years it may be a good idea to take preventative action. Any grubs in your lawn now will be hatching into beetles soon, which will fly around and lay eggs in the lawn in early July. Applying a preventative product now inhibits eggs from hatching and ensures a grub free lawn through the following summer. We apply grub control between June 15 and July 30. The grub is the larvae state of a beetle.
Beetles work their way through the thatch layer and into the soil laying eggs, which hatch into grubs.
