Spring Preparation
Raking and cleanup:
It's important to identify thin areas of your lawn. A good technique that you can do to help those areas are to rake them to loosen any matted-down turf, which will promote new growth.
Lowering your mowing height:
In the early days of spring an effective method of promoting new growth and removing winter damaged leaf tissue is to lower your mowing height by one or two notches, but be sure not to scalp your lawn. This encourages new shoots and also allows more sunlight to reach the soil, which raises soil temperature.
Seeding:
Seeding of severely thin spots can help to insure consistent thickness throughout your lawn. But be sure to notify us of any seeded areas, because our pre-emergent treatment for crabgrass will inhibit new seed growth. If large areas are to be seeded even replacing the pre-emergent application with a starter fertilizer maybe the best course of action. |

Spring is also the time to be thinking about your trees and shrubs. Services like spring deep root feeding or preemptive fungicide applications can ensure healthy and attractive plants all season long. |
