News has been received that The Rev. Dr. Michael C. Murphy, pastor at Peoples Congregational Church, UCC in Washington D.C. and the founding pastor of St. Stephen's Community UCC in Lansing, died on December 28, 2014. Services are currently being arranged and the Conference will share news as soon as it becomes available. The entire United Church of Christ community will miss his pastoral presence and his untiring efforts on behalf of civil rights. Our prayers are with Dr. Murphy's family and the congregations that he served in Washington, D.C. and in Lansing, Michigan.
