Congratulations to Chamber friend Marty H. Mandelbaum, certified practitioner of orthotics and prosthetics, who was recently inducted into the 2015 Class of Fellows by the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists during their 41st annual symposium.  Marty is one of just seven people in the nation to receive this distinction this year.

Have you noticed the new paver patio in front of the Masonic Temple?  Looks great and really gives the Temple a fresh entrance.

Chamber 3rd Vice President Joy Pipe owner of East End Shirt Company and Director of Operations Barbara Ransome owner of the Ransome Inn B&B both received a proclamation from Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone for being recognized as a Local Business Women Honorees who had rendered significant contributions to their community at large.  Thank you Jolie Powell, Chamber 1th VP for attending the awards night.

'Member of the Year'.  They were honored with others at the annual awards dinner that is sponsored by the Brookhaven Chambers of Commerce Coalition April 29th held at the West Lake Inn in Patchogue, congratulations!

Did you know that there is a new ferry in the Village?  Starting this May on the weekend only, the high speed ferry Seastreak will be making voyages back and forth into NYC, $60 for a round trip ticket.  What a great alternative way of going into the city!

Have you seen the Celtic Quest new addition to their fleet, the 'Celtic Grace'?

Captain Desi O'Sullivan welcomed his new vessel with a party on board!  The Grace is licensed to accommodate up to 120 passengers and can support 90 people fishing.  Her cabin dinette area can provide seating for 35. She is the largest ever in the fleet!     

Don't forget that this summer the Sound Waters 80' tall ship will be back in Port Jefferson providing 2 hour sailing adventures.  Starting in August!                  

This year the Expo was moved up a bit to May 9th marking the 6th year for this community-driven event. Our new Chair Jim Karras and Committee once again ran a very successful Expo.  Held at the Earl L. Vandermuelen High/Middle School, there were 70 plus vendor tables. 

Our three renowned medical establishments - Stony Brook Medicine, John T. Mather Memorial Hospital and St. Charles Hospital were our major sponsors and contributed to the popularity of the Expo.  Without their support this educational Expo could not be done! 

The family 2K Fun Run was again a popular addition with over 175 participants.

New this year was a mini farmers market which created an excellent visual in welcoming attendees into the Expo.  To keep with a family theme the Expo created a vendor-game for all attendees.   Winners received FREE movie tickets and were eligible for a 'Healthy Family Entertainment' basket.  Special thanks
