Willmar Public Schools Bond Referendum Survey - Please Take a Couple of Minutes to Complete - Return by April 17th
 
The Willmar Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and the WLACC Public Policy Committee are seeking your input on the proposed Willmar Public Schools Bond Referendum.  You were mailed a flyer from the WLACC that includes frequently asked questions, a sample ballot and a survey for you to complete and return to the Chamber office on how you would vote on the proposed bond referendum.  Please return the completed survey to the Chamber office by April 17th.  Any questions, please contact Ken Warner at 320.231.0272 or [email protected].

neXt Spring Volunteer Event - Willmar Area Food Shelf | Wednesday, April 8th | 8 am - 4:30 pm
 
Please take this opportunity to work with a team of other neXt members while helping with various tasks at the WAFS.  Shifts are an hour minimum, feel free to sign up for as many hours as you are willing.  We need 6 volunteers per hour.  Sign up will be handled by Diane at 320.235.0300 or [email protected].
Chamber to Work with E & M Consulting, Inc. to Produce the Official Map for Willmar and Kandiyohi County
 
The Willmar Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce our partnership with a company called E&M Consulting about the 2015 Official Map.  We wanted to give you a heads up that you will probably receive a call this week regarding the map.  E&M is managing all of the ad sales, creative design, and formatting for us, and we will provide all of the normal content.  They are extremely professional and produce a very high quality publication, and we ask you give E&M Consulting a moment of your time.  Please don't hesitate to call us at 320.235.0300 or email [email protected],  if you have any questions at all.  As always, your support of the Willmar Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce's products and services is greatly appreciated!

neXt Education Session - Vitality of Rural Minnesota | Thursday, April 16th | 3 - 5 pm | O'Neil's in Spicer
 
Join us to hear Ben Winchester speak on the Vitality of Rural Minnesota.  Ben is a rural sociologist and researcher for the U of M Extension Center - Community Vitality.  Ben has explored the migration trends of younger generations and how it's socially and economically impacted us here in rural Minnesota.  He will share his insights regarding the Willmar Lakes Area and how we can prepare ourselves and our businesses for what is to come.  Happy Hour with music by Jeff James to follow.

WE/LEAD Presents - Life in the Hot Seat: Women in Politics and Local Government | Thursday, April 23rd | Noon - 1 pm (lunch at 11:45 am) | MN West Technology Campus, Life Science Auditorium
 
Join WE/LEAD on Thursday, April 23rd for "Life in the Hot Seat: Women in Politics and Local Government".  Featured speakers are Mary Sawatzky, former Representative-MN House; Renee Nolting, NL-S School Board and Audrey Nelsen, Willmar City Council.  Cost to attend is $11 and includes lunch.  Registration is required by April 21st.  Click here to read more and to register.

This Friday, April 10th, is our next Chamber Connection.  The Oaks at Eagle Creek is hosting this event from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. at 1000 26th Avenue NE.  Join us for coffee and a light breakfast for only a buck and your business card.  Share your business news or information on an upcoming event as you start your Friday with fellow Chamber Members.
